How to Defeat Calvinism!
So…I’d like to apologize to those who will find this offensive due to their Arminian tendencies, and/or distaste for Calvinism in general…
Again, I’d LIKE to…but I’m not. Why? Because this is just plain funny…

Debating Calvinism…
This comes from The Contemporary Calvinist regarding this post:
There are four main points to remember when discrediting Calvinism. First, single out one contemporary author or theologian to act as a representative for everyone else. Second, paint a negative picture of Calvinism by focusing on just one or two historical incidents (e.g. the execution of Servetus). [...]

The Calvinistic Pelagian?
This is outrageous.
Calvinists have often been called many things…but this would be a first in which Calvinists are referred to as actually being Pelagians (regarding their pre-fall position of Adam at least).
I’m not saying whoever wrote it isn’t smart…but whoever wrote it misconstrued Calvinism in my humble opinion.
I honestly have no intent in debating this [...]

Appalled but Productive
John Piper posted this to his blog today that I found very encouraging:
The vision in Daniel 8 is appalling. The great beastly enemy of God is allowed to kill huge numbers of saints.
His power shall be great…and he shall cause fearful destruction and shall succeed in what he does, and destroy mighty men and the [...]

One Point Calvinism
Pastor Scott Thomas (the Pastor of the Church Planting branch here at Mars Hill Church) recently posted a blog concerning what J.I. Packer has had to say about the issue of Calvinism. I highly recommend you go to read it. Packer describes the primary one point of Calvinism that the five points of Calvinism are [...]

Has Ergun Caner Ever Read Romans 9?
(This one is for you Trey)
If you are intentionally trying to debunk someone else’s theological position…do your homework.
If you are intentionally trying to debunk someone else’s theological position from the pulpit…make sure you do your homework.

It will be dealt with…
I have been reading John Piper’s “Brothers, We are Not Professionals” and a few nights ago a quote struck me profoundly.
“It [sin] will be dealt with…either on the cross or in hell.”
I believe that we often forget that these are our only two options for God’s dealing with sin. Often times, with ourselves and/or others, [...]

Drawing The Line…
I recently received a question concerning whether or not I thought Calvinism was “the Gospel.” This specifically related to the question of “If one is not a Calvinist, is one truly saved?” I will start by quoting the Prince of Preachers himself, Charles Haddon Spurgeon:
We care far more for the central evangelical truths than we [...]
